Ward vs. Walters in ABC Friday Shuffle
/>ABC?s decision to bump ?20/20? for ?Once and Again? Fridays beginning in the fall is only partly about giving the struggling drama a chance.
It?s also about Sela Ward looking hot ? hotter than Barbara Walters. TV-industry analysts say ?20/20? lost its slot because ABC believes Ward will appeal to 18-to-49-year-olds, reports the New York Post. The paper also conducted an informal online poll that found readers nearly unanimously voted that they would rather see Ward than Walters. It?s not just male 18-to-49-year-olds either. ?ABC has so few shows that deliver well in young women,? says Paul Schulman, president of the New York office of Adanswers PHD, a company that buys advertising space for networks. ?The chemistry between the two leads is incredible.?
